Artist Statement

My practice is deeply rooted in a material-focused process where I explore the interaction between opposites, both in materials, form, and themes. Through sculptures, wall-hung works, and installations, I investigate transformation — how materials can interact, evolve, and generate meaning. It is in the process and the physical dialogue with the materials that the narrative unfolds.

I primarily work with textile techniques but sometimes extend beyond traditional fibers to incorporate materials that stand in strong contrast to the softness and vulnerability of textiles. This juxtaposition between the delicate, easily damaged fibers and the more durable, rigid materials creates a tension that I appreciate. My work is also informed by an interest in rhythms, repetition, deconstruction, and reconstruction — processes that reflect the constant change of life, where presence and absence coexist.

My works are rarely isolated from their surroundings; they often engage with and respond to the environments in which they are placed. My visual language draws inspiration from textures, patterns, and structures found both in urban environments and nature. In this way, my practice forms a bridge between the constructed and the organic, the transient and the enduring. Through this exploration, I offer the viewer an opportunity to reflect on the inherent tensions and harmonies present both in the world around us and within ourselves.
