Glimpse 2022
Memory, Matter, and Time between Preservation and Dissolution
Glimpse is an exploration of the sedimentary nature of time and the transience of memory, where layers of information accumulate, fade, and partially erase in a continuous interplay between preservation and dissolution. Inspired by the ephemeral archives of poster walls—where fragments overlap and disintegrate—the work examines the unstable relationships between memory, matter, and time.
Through the inherent tactility and slow formation of the textile medium, reflections on permanence and decay are deepened. Some traces vanish, while others persist—an echo of how memory is constantly renegotiated and reconstructed. The work thus marks a transition between the readable and the lost, where what once conveyed information transforms into a fragmented and enigmatic structure.
Glimpse becomes a material meditation on time’s passage and memory’s erosion, where perception and meaning remain in flux within an ongoing process of transformation.
